Glen Goldsmith

Last year, Glen was shortlisted for a Public Relations Consultants Association (PRCA) FrontLine Award for “outstanding contribution to the PR industry” 2002.

Before establishing 2thefore, Glen was UK managing director of a leading global technology PR consultancy, Text 100.  He helped the consultancy win and service many leading technology companies, including BT, Orange, Virgin, Telewest, EMC and Telecity.

A key member of the overall management EMEA team, he contributed to the overall strategy of Text 100’s business in Europe. Glen devised and led the company’s influential industry networking programme which culminated in the agency winning The European Technology Forum’s PR Consultancy of the year in 2001.  He also oversaw the consultancy’s quality initiative that resulted in Text 100 achieving the PRCA’s Consultancy Management Standard.

Glen began his consultancy career with Edelman Public Relations Worldwide, supporting a variety of business-to-business, corporate affairs and consumer accounts, including Nestle, British Steel and Commercial Union.  In 1991, he moved to dPa Corporate Communications, a full-service PR and marketing communications agency specialising in information technology, media and telecommunications. Glen directed, managed and implemented campaigns for Mercury Communications, Sony Broadcast and Professional Europe, Intel, Cable and Wireless, Nortel, and the Government’s Central Computer and Telecommunications Agency (CCTA).

Glen contributes to PR industry best practice through the PRCA’s Commercial Pricing committee.

Katie King

Katie holds an MBA, is fluent in French and German, and is a member of both the Chartered Institute of Marketing and the Institute of Public Relations.

Katie’s public relations experience spans over 14 years in the technology industry, beginning her career in house with the telecoms supplier Siemens.  She has worked for several public relations consultancies in the IT and telecoms sectors, assisting clients such as Orange, BT, Virgin and Computer Associates.

Prior to establishing 2thefore, Katie spent seven years at Text 100 in a variety of consulting, marketing and business development roles. In 1997, Katie formed and led a business unit within Text 100 that focused on servicing the specific needs of telecoms and Internet clients.

Katie was a key member of Text 100’s UK management team, after which she turned her attention to Europe as director of marketing and new business development.

Katie has considerable experience of the private equity technology marketplace and has forged relationships with several venture capital firms and influential networking groups, including Europe Unlimited and The European Technology Forum.
